The famous family boasts a lot of big names — Miley Cyrus, Noah Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus, just to name a few — but their love and acceptance of each other appears to be even bigger.
“I have a very intimate and close relationship with my family,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer told British Vogue in 2021. “But like all families, we’re also complex, but we embrace the fact that each of us are so different from one another. Me and my siblings, we’re a lot alike, but we also have big differences. And we just accept that and don’t judge each other. And our family makes unconditional love a priority.”
For Billy Ray and estranged wife Tish Cyrus, that means putting their respect for each other and their family above all else — even in the midst of divorce.
The former couple, who share five children together — in addition to Miley and Noah, the Cyruses are also parents to daughter Brandi Cyrus and sons Trace Cyrus and Braison Cyrus — have filed for divorce three times in their nearly 30-year marriage. Most recently, Tish filed in April 2022, Us Weekly confirmed at the time, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
“It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts,” Billy Ray and Tish told People in a statement. “We will always be family and look forward to a continued and loving shared experience as friends and parents.”

However, one Cyrus offspring who fans might not know is Christopher Cody Cyrus, Billy Ray’s son with Kristin Luckey. The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer and Luckey had a brief relationship in the early ‘90s, calling it quits just before the country star went on to romance Tish. Luckey gave birth to Christopher Cody in April 1992, just seven months before Tish welcomed Miley.
Chris and his mother opened up about their relationship with the Cyruses in a 2009 interview with the Mirror. While the then-teen praised Miley’s vocal talent and recalled fond childhood memories with his “outgoing” sister, his relationship with his dad later cooled off, Chris revealed. According to Luckey, Chris “tried to keep a lot [of his emotions with his estranged dad] inside but I know when he’s hurting and really getting to him.”

Billy Ray Cyrus
The patriarch of the Cyrus family, Billy Ray hit the country scene by storm in 1992 with his smash hit, “Achy Breaky Heart.” After marrying Tish the following year, the singer went on to adopt her two children from a previous relationship: Brandi and Trace. As the Cyrus family grew, Billy Ray’s fame waned — until he made his first comeback in 2006 by starring as Miley’s dad on the Disney Channel hit Hannah Montana. He later scored the biggest single of his career with his feature on Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” which was certified diamond. Tish filed for divorce from Billy Ray in April 2022.
Billy announced in November 2022 that he is engaged to girlfriend Firerose. He popped the question that August and they tied the knot in October 2023. Billy filed for an annulment in June 2024 due to irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct.

Tish Cyrus
Tish serves as Miley’s comanager (along with a team at Crush Management) and worked as a producer on several of her films, including The Last Song. In addition to managing the “Midnight Sky” singer’s career, Tish cohosts the “Sorry We’re Stoned” podcast with daughter Brandi. She filed for divorce from her estranged husband twice over the course of their marriage — Billy Ray filed once — with her April 2022 filing being the most recent.
Tish moved on with actor Dominic Purcell in July 2022, nearly one year before the pair got engaged.

Brandi Cyrus
Born in 1987, Brandi is the oldest member of the Cyrus siblings. She has also followed in the family footsteps and become a performer and personality dabbling in acting, singing and fashion before settling into her career as a podcaster. Brandi cohosts “Your Favorite Thing” with Bachelor Nation’s Wells Adams, and cohosts “Sorry We’re Stoned” with mom Tish.

Trace Cyrus
Best known for his hit single “Shake It” with his band Metro Station, Trace is the second-oldest Cyrus sibling, born in 1989. The rocker’s love life has made plenty of headlines over the years, including his 2012 split from ex-fiancée Brenda Song and his 2020 breakup from ex-fiancée Taylor Lauren Sanders. In the summer of 2022, Trace — who still makes music with Metro Station and released his debut solo EP in 2021 — revealed that he is working on an album. He also showed off his body transformation in a dramatic before and after photo in August 2022, revealing he felt “mentally destroyed” before deciding to hit the gym and get fit.

Christopher Cody Cyrus
The Cyrus siblings’ half-brother was born in April 1992, just seven months before Miley came along. Though not much is known about Chris’ life today, in 2009, he told the Mirror that he had a relationship with the Cyrus family while growing up, which dwindled once he got older. However, he had nothing but positive things to say about Miley at the time. “She’s the same now as she was before all this fame. She’s still my goofy sister,” he told the Mirror.

Miley Cyrus
The biggest star of them all, Miley — born Destiny Hope Cyrus in November 1992 — initially shot to stardom as Hannah Montana on the eponymous Disney Channel sitcom in the early 2000s. After dating Nick Jonas and releasing three albums under Disney’s Hollywood Records label, the “Malibu” singer shook off her Hannah Montana roots and transformed herself into the wrecking ball-swinging Miley that dominated her 2013 Bangerz era. Ever evolving as an artist, the “Party in the U.S.A.” singer has scored numerous accolades, two Grammy nominations and has spanned multiple genres of music, including pop, rock and country.
After 10 years of dating on and off, she married her Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth in December 2018, only to split for good less than a year later. Miley — who identifies as queer — has since dated Kaitlynn Carter and Cody Simpson. She was first romantically linked to Maxx Morando in early 2022.

Braison Cyrus
Like so many in his family, Braison, born in 1994, is also a musician. The singer, who released his debut album, Javelina, in 2021, married Stella McBride two years earlier. The pair share son Bear, born in June 2021, Billy Ray and Tish’s first grandchild.

Noah Cyrus
The baby of the Cyrus family, Noah — born in 2000 — certainly doesn’t seem like the youngest when it comes to her artistry, releasing mature tracks like “I Got So High That I Saw Jesus” and “July.” The “Mr. Percocet” singer, who was nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy in 2020, is set to release her debut album, The Hardest Part, in September 2022. In June 2023, Noah announced she and her boyfriend,Pinkus, are engaged.

Dolly Parton
The "Jolene" songstress was tapped to be Miley's godmother upon her birth, and the two have had a close relationship through the years. The Disney Channel alum even invited Parton to play her TV godmother on Hannah Montana.
“One thing that touches me most of all is when you had me on the Hannah Montana show back years ago," Dolly told Miley during Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Christmas, which aired in December 2022. "You really helped my career, you introduced me to a whole new set of fans. Young ones! Though of course, they're not all as young as they used to be now.”
The two women will cohost the Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party broadcast on December 31, 2022.
